Hi Boys and Girls,
We have been so busy with the EQAO and CASI tests that neither you nor I have had enough time to update our class blog. I promise to get your book reviews and diamonte poems up soon. In the mean while why don’t we have another comment contest? Two “gothchas” for every comment with 100% correct spelling and grammar.
Mr. M
PS I posted a few of your book reviews. See the tab above.
Hello boys and girls,
If you are reading this then it means you are going to get some hints about the test on Wednesday. Here’s what the test will be like: I will be putting 5 shapes on your desk. Each one will be numbered from 1 to 5. You will have to name the shape and then write down how many edges, faces and vertices each shape has. You need to study all your 2D shapes as well beacause you will need to know how to name each shape. Remember, the shapes are named by their bases. Pyramids have one base and prisms have two bases.
The bonus question will be on the back. Ms. Daymond will be putting some of the pictures of the nets you have in your duotangs. You can practice at home by naming these nets.
Good Luck,
Mr. M
Have you ever read a graphic novel called “Babysitters Club?” Well, if you haven’t it’s so good! It’s about these three girls and they’re all friends They meet another girl named Stacey. So, she Joins the club. Their names are Kristy, Claudia, Maryanne and Stacey. So Kristy’s mom gets married. Kristy is mad that her mother got married so now she has to get used to taking care of his kids and liking him as a step dad. Stacey has a special diet because she has diabetes. But, she never told her friends. So when they offer her candy she says she can’t eat it it, but never explains why. Her friends think that something is wrong with her and they are worried. This book is really amazing you should read it too. I also read number two in the series, it’s called “The Truth About Stacey” I hope they make a number three!

We are having a quiz today on our multiplication facts all the way up to the sevens. Next week we will have another quiz on Wednesday, also up to the sevens. On Friday of next week the quiz will be on all the facts up to the eights. Keep practicing. Remember, you can practice them anywhere. Just get an adult or friend to ask you questions. If you get one wrong, have them tell you the answer, then try it again in a minute or two. Learning these facts is critical if you expect to have any success with division.

In the fall we planted tulips, daffodils and other flowers. After the snow melted, the flowers started to bloom! The garden looks so beautiful. Our class worked very hard and had fun while we planted the flowers. Before the bulbs were planted the garden looked ugly and miserable. Now when the garden is full and it now looks very nice. Here are the pictures at the end… Everyone appreciates what we have done for them. If you are near the school it would be nice if you could drop by and smell the beautiful flowers.
